New from Martek Medical is the Lifeline Automated External Defibrillator (AED), ideally suited for positioning alongside first aid kits in the leisure environment.
According to Martek, up to 100,000 UK deaths are potentially preventable with the adoption of a new AED, dramatically reducing the growing number of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA)-related fatalities that occur whilst exercising.
This is said to include many thousands that occur in sports and health centres nationwide, with the only proven way of saving the life of an SCA sufferer being the rapid delivery of an electric shock to the heart.
The new Lifeline AED - costing less than £1,000 per unit - is compact, highly visible in bright yellow and black, and designed to be used by anyone, carrying clear visual and verbal instructions together with two, bright, oversized buttons for its operation.
A five-year battery is supplied as standard - with a seven-year battery being available as an option - whilst a data card can update the device with any changes in legislation required in minutes.

Small Footprint, Big Significance: Studio City Water Park |
|
Long known for its fancy casinos, Macau realized within the past decade that it must
diversify its tourism scene to attract new crowds. With the ambition of becoming the
leisure hub of China’s 72-million strong Greater Bay Area, the city began adding shows,
attractions, and family-friendly hotels. But the offering that truly stands out with fun
for everyone is Studio City Water Park – Macau’s first stand-alone water park, with all
the water slides and aquatic play structures supplied by WhiteWater. |
