Texas-based company Softeq has worked in partnership with Disney to create a handheld device for disabled guests to use at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort theme parks.
Incorporating wireless technology, the device provides assistance in a variety of ways for those with visual and hearing impairments.
The assistive listening system provides amplified audio, while handheld captioning enables guests to read captions while enjoying specific theme park attractions as well as in pre-show areas before certain rides and shows.
The device also provides audio description for guests who are blind or with low vision, providing a running commentary about key changes in performances such as actions, settings and scene changes.

Small Footprint, Big Significance: Studio City Water Park |
|
Long known for its fancy casinos, Macau realized within the past decade that it must
diversify its tourism scene to attract new crowds. With the ambition of becoming the
leisure hub of China’s 72-million strong Greater Bay Area, the city began adding shows,
attractions, and family-friendly hotels. But the offering that truly stands out with fun
for everyone is Studio City Water Park – Macau’s first stand-alone water park, with all
the water slides and aquatic play structures supplied by WhiteWater. |
