House for an Art Lover presents
A Mackintosh Experience in association with the first city-wide festival showcasing the genius of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Sponsored by HLM Architects and Blueprint Media, performances will take place on 26, 27 and 28 September.
The Music Room will offer the backdrop for a play written and performed by acclaimed Scottish actor John Cairney. An accomplished actor, author and entertainer, Cairney has also published a biography of the iconic architect, called The Quest For Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Based on the life, lecture notes and letters of renowned architect and artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the performance also features Cairney’s wife, actress Alannah O’Sullivan in the role of Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh.
As the avant-garde ‘Toshie’ and ‘Margaret’ they share in presenting the story of the artists lives together from the early years through to the glory days of major successes both in Glasgow and on the Continent.
Tickets are available from House for an Art Lover at a cost of £45 per person or £400 for a table of 10, which includes sparkling wine on arrival, an hour performance followed by a three-course dinner with wine.
